About Me

My name is Teena Campion-Smith and welcome to my website.  Thank you for taking the time to take a look and in order for you to gain a little insight into me and my work I would like to tell you something about me.

I have been working in the field of talking therapy for over 20 years and in that time, in addition to obtaining a Diploma in Transactional Analysis counselling individuals with a myriad of problems and difficulties, I have extended my expertise to include couple/relationship therapy, sex therapy, sex addiction therapy and support for partners of sex addicts.   All of my training has been specialised, associated to professional bodies, extensive in its range as well as being extremely thorough in its training content.  To that end I have obtained an MSc in Psychosexual Therapy, a Professional Certificate in Sex Addiction, a Post Graduate Diploma in Relationship and Psychosexual Therapy, a Graduate Certificate in Couples Counselling and a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy

I am exacting with regard to Continuing Professional Development and, as a member of  the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - BACP -, the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists - COSRT - and the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity - ATSAC , I adhere to their professional guidelines which means I attend conferences, workshops and courses which enhance and inform my work and keep me up to date with research and theory in my fields.

I have been very particular in undergoing broad spectrum intense training, and I very quickly learnt that the relationship that is created between me and my clients is particularly important – the therapeutic alliance.  This is the special something that is generated during therapy that accords my clients the sense of permission giving, tranquillity and calm and an unbiased and non-judgemental approach.

I would like to add that there is also a special someone you will find if we have appointments in my therapy room – that is CoCo my little dog. She has been accompanying me to work for almost 2 years now and greets my clients in a friendly and gentle manner and then will invariably go to sleep.   However, I absolutely understand that not everyone wants a dog near them so I do have a dog cage in the room that CoCo can go into if you would feel more comfortable.

Contact me to arrange a confidential appointment.
