Welcome to my website and thank you for taking the time to take a look. In order for you to gain a little insight into me and my work I would like to tell you something about me.
I have been working in the field of talking therapy for nearly 20 years and in that time, in addition to counselling individuals with a myriad of problems and difficulties, I have extended my expertise to include couple therapy, sex therapy, sex addiction therapy and support for partners of sex addicts. All of my training has been specialised, associated to professional bodies, extensive in its range as well as being extremely thorough in its training content.
However, apart from being very particular in undergoing broad spectrum intense training, I very quickly learnt that the relationship that is created between me and my clients is particularly important – the therapeutic alliance. This is the special something that is generated in the room that accords my clients the sense of permission giving, tranquillity and calm and an unbiased and non-judgemental approach.
There is also a special someone who you will find in my therapy room – and that is Bertie my dog. He has been accompanying me to work for almost 3 years now and greets my clients in a friendly and gentle manner and then will invariably go to sleep. He has even appeared in the local ‘Latest Homes’ magazine and is a bit of a celebrity! However, I absolutely understand that not everyone wants a dog near them, I do have a dog cage in the room that Bertie can go into if you would feel more comfortable.
